Yoursafe Radio: Radio for Gen Z

The problem

Yoursafe Radio is a Dutch commercial, nationwide radio station. The radio station focuses on Gen-Z and has varied programming.

Starting from scratch in 2023, Yoursafe wanted to create studios that can be repurposed for various content types and diverse programs very quickly. They also wanted very "clean" studios without the usual hardware clutter.

Solution

Coming from the world of electronic payment and internet domains, Yoursafe Radio knew only a software platform would be flexible enough for their demands, and they selected Artisto as their audio mixer.

Deployment

The Yoursafe Radio project was deployed in record time: 3 weeks from order to on-air.

Artisto is deployed on a bare-metal server in their data centre. They are using the Linux/Docker distribution, which caused some difficulties since the radio runs on a Dante network, and very few audio cards support that config. Although advertising Linux drivers, the selected Marian Clara E required some debugging at the driver level and matching implementation in Artisto. The Marian Clara E (up to 1024 Dante channels) is now supported out of the box by the Linux distribution of Artisto.

Yoursafe Radio connected the Flexible Mixer to a Makepro X controller.
