The problem

JPMorgan Chase, the largest bank in the United States, has built a new global headquarters in the heart of New York City. The building features more than 30 high-end event and meeting rooms of various sizes and production scales, ranging from small meetings with a few microphones to large events using more than 60 microphones.

The headquarters regularly connects with JPMorgan Chase offices worldwide to host global events, conferences, and meetings.

Each room is equipped with a comprehensive professional AV setup and operated from centralized remote control rooms. The bank was looking for a versatile audio mixing platform that could integrate seamlessly into a complex, IP-based production workflow.

Flexibility was a critical requirement. The solution needed to be easy to deploy and scale, and go beyond traditional siloed, hardware-centric systems. Software-based deployment was preferred wherever possible. High availability, redundancy, and operational stability were also essential.

The HQ’s backbone infrastructure is based on ST2110, with IPMX and Dante also integrated.

The project was led by the Global Multimedia Engineering and Product team.

Solution

Following an initial proof of concept, Artisto was selected as the audio platform for the meeting rooms, supporting mixers with up to 64 channels per room.

Beyond mixing, Artisto provides advanced native capabilities including ST2110 support, automixing, and audio playout. This allowed JPMorgan Chase to deploy a scalable, highly integrated, and resilient audio infrastructure aligned with modern IP workflows.

Deployment

The project is overseen by Diversified, a major US systems integrator, in partnership with Salas O’Brien (K2) for deployment, configuration, and ongoing support.

Artisto, running on Linux and Docker, is deployed in the client’s data center in a fully mirrored, redundant N+N setup.

The overall infrastructure is orchestrated by EVS Cerebrum, which natively integrates with Artisto via its API.

In total, more than 90 operators use the system through browser-based web interfaces and Icon Audio control surfaces.

What it looks like

Number of nodes:

  • 2 x 64-channel audio mixers per engine

  • Between 1,200 and 1,400 audio nodes per engine

  • 5 engines deployed with full redundancy

Options: ST2110, Flexible Audio Mixer, Cart Player & Palylist, Redundancy
