The problem
The Client, a prominent media group in France, wanted to develop its offering by launching event-based digital radio stations.
They were looking for a solution with flexible licensing, the ability to scale based on operational needs, and one that integrates easily into its existing workflow.
Stability was also a critical factor in the Client's requirements.
Solution
The Client used a combination of Lumo – a full radio studio on a laptop -and Artisto for more advanced audio processing and SRT delivery.
The Client also uses the Automate service built on the Artisto API to create rules. For example, when a specific fader is closed, marking an ad break, Automate sends an HTTP command to trigger the playout of the ad server.
The setup is used extensively over critical events and has proven to be extremely stable.
Deployment
The project was sold through a reseller. The client then deployed it without specific support from On-Hertz besides the available online documentation.
Artisto (Windows) is deployed on-prem in the Client's data centre in a 1+1 redundant configuration.
Lumo is installed on a Windows laptop.
